Robert is the founder of Internet People which is the UK's leading community for the Internet sector, and Connected Clubs which is a new venture that provides networking by combining physical venues with an online environment and events. Robert also runs CreativeOut which are events for people from across the creative industries.

What is the best connection you have made or received?
I've made two introductions that have lead to two companies raising over $10 million.
What are your top tips for hosting a great networking event?
- Strive for a high quality of people at your events because quality attracts quality.
- Always send out an attendees list before the event and the get everyone to quickly introduce themselve at the event.
- Ask everyone to be welcoming of others at the event and tell attendees to feel free to talk to anyone in the room, thus giving everyone permission to talk to others.
